Join a group of women cyclists on organised rides!

Updated: Aug 6

Women in the countryside, cycling

Are you female? Like cycling, or want to get back into riding a bike and would like to join a group of women on organised rides? I found the idea of joining a cycling club intimidating and so never did it. I enjoy cycling with my partner but our aims are different – his is to get around the route as quickly as possible, and mine is to enjoy the scenery! So when I discovered BREEZE it was a no-brainer to investigate further, and join in.

Run by a very strong contingent of volunteers, North Wales Breeze organise free, women only rides, on Anglesey and also in neighbouring regions along the north coast of the mainland. They are inclusive of all abilities, and include e-bikers too. They also organise mountain bike rides.

They are very welcoming, and there will always be experienced cyclists as part of the

group who will do the route preparation and navigation for you. You can choose your distance and difficulty level, but no matter what – no one is ever left behind!

All you need to do is turn up, with a working bike, suitable clothing and a helmet.

To find out more about Breeze, visit their website here (scroll down the page and look for 'women only rides'). Rides are constantly being added so keep looking.

For othe.r cycling events, have you tried the Tour de Môn? There is a choice of three routes and distances, and also a fun ride for children – check out the details here.
